Catherine “Kate” (Marciano) Granfield, 83 of West Haven, passed away on Friday May 12, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford surrounded by her family. Kate was born in West Haven, on October 9, 1933 to the late Quintino and Mary (Tutino) Marciano. Kate was a lifelong resident of West Haven and was employed by the New Haven Convalescent Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years until her retirement in 1997. Kate will be remembered for her love of people watching on the boardwalk, listening to Connie Francis, playing cards and spending time with her family, as well as her adoration for her dogs especially Fanci Pants and Penelope. Kate was an avid Yankee and UConn women’s basketball fan. Kate is survived by her three children; her daughter, Debbie Jason of West Haven, her daughter, Kathleen (Nick) Savalli of East Haven, and her son, John Granfield Jr. of Deltona Florida. Kate is also survived by her three grandchildren, Andrea (Frankie) Coppola, Cassie Savalli, and Nicholas Savalli. Kate also leaves behind a great granddaughter Gianna Coppola, a brother Anthony Marciano and a special niece, Janis Ardito. She was predeceased by her four sisters; Elizabeth Onerato, Virginia Szirbik, Eleanor Ardito and Antoinette Burke, as well as two brothers; Frank and Vincent Marciano. Friends and family are welcomed to visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St. West Haven, on Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave. North Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kate’s memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford.
