Wasyl LeschukDecember 16, 1945 ~ July 28, 2017 (age 71)
Wasyl (Bill) Leschuk, 71, of North Branford passed away surrounded by his family on July 28, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of Jane Anne (Koptonak) Leschuk. He was born in Nurenberg, Germany on December 16, 1945 to the late Boris and Marie (Merzalov) Leschuk.
Wasyl was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Army. He retired after 24 years from the U.S. Postal Service in Hamden. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Wasyl enjoyed carpentry and gardening, and was an avid reader. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and a strong provider. He will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife of 37 years, he is survived by his two children, William A. Leschuck of North Branford and Helena Marie Leschuk of Brattleboro, VT. He is also survived by his brother, Serge Leschuk of Clinton, and two sisters, Svetlana Golembieski of North Branford and Irina L. Dubno of Westville, CT.
Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road in North Branford on Thursday, August 3, from 5-8pm. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held on Friday August 4, at the North Branford Congregational Church at 11am. Burial will follow at Bare Plains Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The North Branford Congregational Church, 1680 Foxon Rd. North Branford, and the Northford Congregational Church, Old Post Rd. Northford.
