Willie Joe Wilson

Willie Joe Wilson passed this life in his home on June 10, 2020.  Willie Joe was born on August 9, 1954, the seventh child of Mack and Genova Wilson of Conway, South Carolina.

Willie Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Althia, his devoted son Jamal Hasan and his only grandchild, Tazmir of New Jersey.  He is also survived by his sisters, Rita (Robert) Mack, Leethel (James) Allen and Maxine (Eugene) Williamson.  He was predeceased by his brothers Quilla Wilson, Edward Wilson and Eugene Wilson.  Willie Joe also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of faithful friends in his community to mourn.

Willie Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corp.  After finishing his service he moved to Brooklyn where he met and married Althia.  He worked for Enterprise Refrigeration in Secaucus, NJ, then moved to West Haven, CT.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, CT on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.  A burial will take place at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Middletown, CT at a later date.
