William D. Ott

William Daniel Ott, age 84, of West Haven, entered into eternal rest on March 8, 2023, at his home on Elm Street. William was born on July 8, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, to William C. and Rose Isabel Sanders Ott.

He moved to Connecticut as a child, and attended Notre Dame of West Haven. He worked for Willson H. Lee Company, New Haven Register Printing, and later retired from the Knights of Columbus Printing Plant in 1994. William will always be remembered for his love of life, his ability to make anyone laugh, and ultimately being a thoughtful, courageous man. William is survived by his children, Kathleen Cadilek and husband Arthur, Laurie Vitale and husband Lyle, William E. Ott and wife Laurie, and Daniel Ott and wife Tammi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathon Vitale, Brodey Ott, David Cadilek, Michael Vitale, Jason Cadilek, Caeley Ott, Olivia Ott, Mackensie Ott, Ethan Ott, William Vitale, Rose Vitale, his great-grandson, Michael Vitale Jr., and his former spouse, Irene Ashelman. William is predeceased by his parents, William C. Ott and Rose Isabel Sanders Ott.

Friends are invited to join the family at St. Lawrence Church, 207 Main St., West Haven, CT, 06516, at 10 am on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

The mass will be followed by a private burial at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
