Walter Bauer

Walter Bauer, age 84, of North Branford passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2021.  He was the beloved husband of Mary Caron Bauer.  Walter was born in New Haven on March 14, 1936 to the late Charles W. and Evelyn (Read) Bauer.

Walter graduated from Hill High School and went on to become the co-owner of Snitzel Bros. Foreign Auto.  He was a member of the Stoney Creek Drum Corp and Lancraft Fife & Drum performing as a snare drummer.  He loved hunting and fishing in Maine and New Hampshire, but most of all, loved spending time with his family. 

Besides his wife of over 40 years, Walter is survived by his sons, Chris (Teresa)  Bauer of Middletwon, Jeff (Kelly) Bauer of Moodus and Stepson JP Caron of North Branford.  He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Nick Bauer, Steve Bauer, Taylor Bauer of Moodus and Kara Schimelfanick of North Branford.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 4:00 p.m.
