Thomas J. Kidder

Thomas J. Kidder, Age 63, of New Haven passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 27, 2017.  He was the beloved husband of Beverly Cushen Kidder and father of Daniel Kidder. Tom was born in Laconia New Hampshire on July 18, 1954 to Gardner (Sam) and Anita (Bechard) Kidder.

He did his masters and doctoral studies at Fordham University. Tom was retired from Circle Healthcare in Norwalk.   He also worked at Cornell Scott Healthcare in New Haven and St. Raphael’s Hospital as a Social Worker.  Tom was very involved in his religious community, was a Youth Minister at the Hartford Diocese and  a member of the Pastoral and Liturgical Counsels of St. Aedan’s of New Haven.   Tom served on the Mayor’s Task Force for HIV in New Haven.  Tom also volunteered as a Little League baseball coach for Daniel’s teams.  He was a beloved husband and father, and will be sadly missed.

Besides his wife of 28 years, and his son Daniel Kidder of New Haven, he is survived by 2 sisters, Beth (Charles) Rattigan of Woodstock, Vermont and Anne (Chris) Murney of Salisbury Mills, New York.

Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Thursday November 30 from 5pm- 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aedan Church, 112 Fountain Street, New Haven at 11am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven.
