Sofia Vamvakas

Sofia Vamvakas, age 54, of North Branford passed away after a long illness on July 4, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of Konstantinos Vamavakas.  Sofia was born in Strefi, Greece on August 18, 1965 to Katherina of Greece and the late John Demokoplos.

Sofia married the love of her life in 1984 and came to America in 1985.  She was a devoted Greek Orthodox and a loving mother and wife.  She enjoyed family vacations to Greece.  She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her three children, Sotiria Vamvakas (Jamie) Jones of Cheshire, Katherini Vamavakas of North Branford and John Vamavakas of North Branford and one sister, Angelic Tassopoulos of Greece.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford from Friday, July 10, 2020 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow be at 12:00 p.m.  Interment immediately followed at Northford Cemetery, Spruce Street, Northford.
