Salvatore Leon Geraci

November 1, 1945 ~ December 22, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Salvatore Leon Geraci passed away on December 22, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice.  Sal was born in New Haven November 1, 1945 to Michael and Leona ”Honey” Geraci.  He was the middle child of their 7 children.

Sal worked in many professions before he became disabled.  He worked as a paving laborer, a butcher at Forte’s Market in North Branford and as construction laborer and mason.  He has lived in North Branford for over 29 years with his wife of 33 years, Jessie Stone Geraci.  He also survived by his children Christine and Salvatore Jr., his sisters Leona Fernandez and Mona (Joseph) Ceravello and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael Jr.(Lillian), Edward (Nancy), John and his sister Jeannette “Jeannie” Maltese.

Sal loved to hunt and fish.  He spent many hours creating and tying new flies and inventing better crab trap weights.  In earlier years he was a fixture in Branford Point fishing and crabbing.  He always has a soft spot for young fishers, new to the sport.  He would give his homemade flies to beginners so they could have a better chance of catching something.  This passion and skill he passed on to his son.
