Robert J. Reynolds, 82, of West Haven passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018 surrounded by his family at Seacrest Retirement Center in West Haven. He was the beloved husband of the late Maureen (Cox) Reynolds, and beloved father of Sherry Reynolds, Maureen Jordan, and Robert Reynolds, of Florida, and Lisa Donini (Steve) of Milford, CT, and grandfather to Matthew, Chelsea, Tyler, and Jenna.
Bob was born in New Haven on October 20, 1935 to the late John and Eleanor (Landers) Reynolds. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and later spent many years working for Amtrak Railroad until his retirement in 2002. Bob loved his family, enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Known for his infectious smile and laugh, he was a true people person. He was affectionately known as “The Mayor” around town. Always first to plow the neighbors’ driveways and sidewalks or mow the lawn, Bob was someone you could count on to lend a hand. He will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Monday April 9, from 4-7pm, with a service to be held at 7. Military honors will be celebrated to conclude the evening. To leave an online tribute or condolence, please visit www.keenanfuneralhome.com.
