Robert J. Coppola, 81, of North Branford entered peacefully into eternal rest on June 6, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Born on November 13, 1939, in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Gennaro J. Coppola and Aniella (Nellie) Zawacki.
Robert was a successful entrepreneur and developer. He was the owner of Boutique Coiffeurs Beauty Salon, developed Town and Country Plaza in North Branford, Connecticut, the Rainforest Golf and Sports Complex in Ft. Pierce, Florida, and owned several rental units in Southern Connecticut. A proud American Veteran, he served in the United States Army. He was a fan of the New York Giants, UConn Girls basketball team, and enjoyed spending time at the casino with friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children, Robert J. Coppola Jr., and Deonne Esposito, his daughter in-law Lea Coppola, who has always been a great comfort, one brother, Gerald (Ramona) Coppola, one sister, Rosalie (Anthony) Migliozzi, two grand-children, Maria (Michael) Carbone, and Michael Esposito, one great-grand-child Marcella Carbone, and several loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his soul mate and the love of his life Mary Lou, and one brother Anthony (Gloria) Coppola.
In honor of the family’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 30 Caputo Rd, North Branford. Public is asked to meet directly at the church. Interment military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Green Hill Rd, Killingworth CT.
