Robert Paul Bureau

January 8, 1940 ~ July 29, 2021 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Robert Paul Bureau, 81, of North Branford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 29, 2021.

Bob was born in 1940 in New Haven, CT to Joseph Arthur Wilfred Bureau and Marie Poulin Bureau. He worked for New Haven Manufacturing for over 40 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending quality time with his family. His greatest joy was the almost daily time he was able to spend with his granddaughters. Whether playing chauffeur or just being silly with them, Poppy, as he was known not only to the girls but also to their many friends and extended family, could always be counted on to listen and encourage his girls.

Known as just Pop to his sons David and Brian, he was a devoted father who spent much of their younger years cheering at their hockey games. As a family they loved going camping and Pop could spend hours people watching at the shore. One of Poppy’s favorite places to sit, relax, and people watch was Stony Creek.

Bob is survived by his sons David and Brian, daughters-in-law Tracy and Kristine, his brother Arthur and sister-in-law Barbara and his brother Richard and sister-in-law Darlene. He leaves behind 4 granddaughters, Jordyn, Karlee, Shelby, and Maegan, and his nieces and nephews Justin Bureau, Beth and Jeff Hyne, Julie and Craig Clark, Anne and Matt Reynolds, and Janine Bureau; along with several great nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd, North Branford, CT 06471 on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
