Robert C. Batick Sr.

Robert Charles Batick, Sr. of North Branford, loving husband of Margaret “Peggy” O’Neill Batick, passed away peacefully at Madison House on March 18, 2022.  Bob was born in New Haven, CT on October 27, 1939, to the late Margaret and Joseph Batick.

Bob was a graduate of Eli Whitney Technical High School, and spent five years serving his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Bob was a talented mechanic who worked at area garages and dealerships and ran his own garage for nearly 15 years. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife Peggy, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and telling stories of his days in the Marine Corps or of his childhood trips to Vermont.  Bob was often soft-spoken and a man of few words.  When he did choose to speak, it was usually to deliver a dry, sarcastic, and amusing one-liner, or to make an important point that was worth considering. He was a good and kind man who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his sons Robert Batick, Jr. of Guilford and Edward Batick of Boulder, Colorado, and his grandchildren Derek Batick and Jillian Batick of Guilford.  Bob is also survived by his siblings Jean Langner, Richard Batick, and Patricia Batick. Bob was predeceased by his sister Betty Curis and brother Walter (Smitty) Smith.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 10am-12pm followed by a noon funeral service at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd, North Branford, CT. Interment with Military Honors will be private.
