Robert E. Balasco

Robert E. Balasco, 63, of North Branford, CT passed peacefully with family by his side on Thursday October 21, 2021. Bob was born on July 16, 1958 in Providence RI, he was the son of  Elizabeth Rawcliffe Balasco and the late Robert E. Balasco.

He attended Barrington High School and went on to graduate from Rhode Island College where he met his wife, Rita Burke.  Bob retired from Colony Hardware as the Director of Operations after working there for over 25 years.  An avid traveler (and planner), he brought his wife to more baseball stadiums than she can remember; he instilled a love of art and music in his kids and took them to more concerts and galleries than they can count. He gave up his own old-man softball career to coach his kids and was at every game, concert and art opening they were involved in. When he wasn’t out trying to find the best hot dog, he was home cooking for family and friends. Above all, he will be remembered by friends and family as one of the most caring and generous people around who truly lived his life to the fullest.

A great husband, father and family man, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rita Balasco of North Branford and their children, Sarah and Adam, and daughter-in-law Lauren Kinell.  He
also leaves behind mother Elizabeth, brothers Steve (Michaela) and Rick (Jayne), brother-in-law Dennis Burke (Mark Johnson), many nieces and nephews as well as countless friends that were considered family.

The Balasco family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 26, from 5-8pm at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd, North Branford, CT. A procession will leave from Keenan Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 27 for an 11am mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Haven.
