Rita Elizabeth Brown

Rita E. Brown (Mama) long time resident of West Haven, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on August 5, 2018 at Milford Hospital. Born February 28, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Raymond and Helen Hoyt.

Devoted wife of the late William Brown, she is survived by her children, Thomas (Alida) Brown of Woodbridge, Marjory Brown of Derby, Patricia (Reggie) Argus of West Haven, Barbara Debow of  West Haven and Rita (Robert) Krupp of Northford. She was predeceased by her brothers Herbert Kamper, Martin Kamper, Raymond Kamper and John Doyle and also her sisters Evette Boswell, Genevieve Allen and Joyce Clifford.

Mama was loved and will be dearly missed by her 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. There was a special bond between her and every one of the thousands of babies she held over the years.

Her family was what she lived for and she had a way about her that made everyone that she loved feel that they were special.

Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Thursday, August 9th from 5pm – 8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 600 Jones Hill Road, West Haven on Friday, August 10th.  Interment immediately following at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.
