Rita Cuneo Alexander, 96, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018, in Milford, Connecticut. She was born September 21, 1921 to the late Edward and Irene (Kenney) Cuneo in Binghamton, New York.
Rita worked in the secretarial field for many years, starting at Blue Cross during WWII. While there she and her co-worker friends formed a bridge club that lasted for over 50 years. Cross stitch and needlepoint were two crafts she enjoyed. Rita also enjoyed reading, gardening, and most of all traveling. She and her husband were fortunate to travel the country for extended periods during their retirement in their motorhome as well as spending several winters in Texas and Florida.
She is survived by her son, Gerald H. Alexander, Jr., daughter Noreen Manzella (Robert) and grandson, Matthew Manzella. Rita was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Gerald H. Alexander, Sr., daughter Susan I. Alexander, and sisters Theodora Alexander, Kyrine (Midge) Scott, and twin sister Marie Hayes.
Friends and family may pay their respects at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday, August 27, 2018 followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victory Church, 600 Jones Hill Road at 11 am, West Haven. Burial immediately following at Milford Cemetery.
