Ralph Michael Haley

Ralph M. Haley, 63, of North Branford, beloved son of the late Ralph E. Haley and Evelyn M. (Borelli) Haley, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Ralph was born June 4, 1954, and resided under the watchful care of his family and paternal grandmother, Velma Haley of North Branford, before joining full-time residence with the SARAH SENECA agency residing in their Branford Group Home for the last 23 years. Ralph attended Jerome Harrison School, North Branford before becoming a member of the training and work team of SARAH. In his younger years, Ralph was active in the Special Olympics CT. Ralph (fondly nicknames “Porky” as an infant) will forever be remembered for his love of family and friends. Ralph was the gatekeeper to his family residence, always there to welcome all. He had his own means communication to express his deeply rooted love for all- a gift from his family rearing. In his youth, Ralph wanted to be helpful to all. He could frequently be found hanging the laundry and riding his 3-wheeler cart around the family lot. Ralph loved ‘his’ music! Ralph is survived by his only sibling, James L. Haley, sister-in-law Janet N. Haley, nieces Kristin Haley Bialaszewski and Jessalynn Haley Taker. He leaves behind an extensive extended family, all of who support Ralph throughout his life. A very special appreciation is extended to Lori Cast and a team of caregivers in SARAH SENECA; you have been his family too. Ralph’s family would like to express gratitude for years of care provided by Harry Borelli, Lisa and Brian Davies & children, Bill and Delores Borelli, Bill Borelli, Jr, Michael and Maryann Pace & family, Peggy and John Calamita & family, Evelyn Suprenant, Roy and Lynn Suprenant & family. The Haley family would like to extend their gratitude to all family and friends beyond who provided care and support through Ralph’s precious life. All are welcome to visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford on Tuesday, Dec 19 from 5-7pm. Service will be held at Keenan Funeral Home, Wednesday, Dec 20th at 10am with burial immediately following at Bare Plain Cemetery, North Branford.
