Peter John Jensen

Peter John Jensen, 63, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. His family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, August 4, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at 57 Richmond Avenue, West Haven CT. 06516. Peter was born to Kathryn (Ogren) and William Jensen on May 26, 1955. He graduated from West Haven High School where he was on the track and field team. His specialty was the high jump. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Much to the chagrin of his parents, he hitchhiked across the United States twice, bringing home a wealth of memories and interesting stories of the drivers who picked him up. He pursued a career in finance that took him to Northern Virginia. He eventually returned to West Haven to care for his mother, and worked as a carpenter. He was an avid gardener and was as proud of his flowers as he was of the vegetables he grew. He loved cooking, especially grilling, and enjoyed sharing his efforts with his family and friends. Peter is survived by his wife, Lynne Costello; his sister, Pamela Jensen of Wayne, Pennsylvania; his brother Mark Jensen and sister-in-law Dulcie Jensen of Madison, Connecticut; his brother Paul Jensen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his brother Matthew Jensen of Brooklyn, New York; his step-children, Andrew Pouya of West Haven; Jessica Costello of Portland, Oregon and Thomas Costello of West Haven. Arrangements are under the care of Keenan Funeral Home 238 Elm St West Haven CT.
