Patricia Anne Sweat Mercado

Patricia Anne Sweat, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in her home in West Haven, Connecticut. She was born August 26, 1964 in Dillon, SC to Marvin and Fannie Sweat.

Patricia was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had the biggest heart with a warming smile to match. Whether you were a friend or family, her door was always open to you. Patricia took pride and enjoyed caring for other people. She was a CNA at Mariner healthcare for many years where she cared for and assisted the elderly. Patricia’s love for god and the church were of the upmost importance.  She was a long time member of West Haven Church of God (Promiseland Church of God) where she created the mime ministries and was a former president of the women's ministries. Patricia loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. Her love was expressed through every meal she cooked and everyone truly looked forward to her cooking. Her family was one of the most important aspects of her life (with her birthday and elephants a close second) She strived to love and be loved!

Patricia is survived by her three sons Antoine Davis, (Michelle) Alex and Michael Mercado. Her siblings Joey Strickland, Gerald and Wanda Sweat. Grandchildren Lorenzo, Adrianna, Anastasia, Aiyana and Antonio Davis, Tristan and Giovanni Mercado; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A wake will be held February 3, 2021 at Gateway Christian Fellowship from 5-6:30 and a service from 6:30-7:30 with a gathering February 4, 2021 from 11:00-12:30 at Keenan funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
