Pasquale Louis Criscio, of Branford, formerly of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020, at CT. Hospice in Branford, with his family & friends by his side. He was born May 25th, 1931, the son of Louis Anthony Criscio and Catherine (Repece) Criscio. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Anna (Esposito) Criscio, with whom he shared 62 beautiful years.
Mr. Criscio was the father of 2 daughters, Catherine (Santanello) Criscio, and Roseann (Marc) Conte, Grandfather to 6 grandchildren and Great-Grandfather to 6 great grandchildren and a special little 8 year old boy. Mr. Criscio leaves a brother Louis A.Criscio, who resides in Florida. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and his cousin who he loved very much. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sisters; Catherine Staiano & Rosemarie Mattei.
He worked 36 yrs for C. Cowel & Co. He retired from Southern CT. State University as Assistant Supervisor to the maintenance department. He served as a Sergeant in Korean Conflict and then served 8 more years in the USAR. Mr. Criscio was very active in his community; serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 11, and as a Captain in the Volunteer Fire Company No. 3. He was an avid member of Our Lady of Pompeii Church, and could be seen acting as an usher every Sunday at the 9:15 mass. He loved his New York Yankees, NY Giants and Connecticut Girls Basketball. He was proud of his Italian heritage, especially enjoyed sharing Christmas Eve with his family and all the 7 Fishes. Easter was also special for him, he was known for his ham pies and sweet pies. Mr. Criscio was a man of few words, but would always help his family and friends without hesitation. The Criscio family would like to give special thank you to Dr. Lacka & Lynn w. Triebel from The Geriatric Home Visit Program. They would also like to thank Guilford VNA for all they did for his home-care. We can't express enough thanks to CT. Hospice in Branford, all the angels on the second floor on the Star Unit. Also Dr. Chris Gennino, and Dr. Sacco, and all of the social workers, and volunteers who sat by his bed side.
Family and friends may call at Keenan Funeral Home 238 Elm St. West Haven, CT, on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A funeral mass will be given at 10:30 following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave, West Haven. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Pasquale’s name be made to The CT. Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT.
