Maryann G. McSheffery

Maryann G. McSheffery, age 75, of West Haven passed away on August 24, 2019 at Branford Connecticut Hospice. She was born  August 5, 1944 in New Haven, CT to the late Dorothy and Harold Gamber. Maryann was one of 5 children, survived by her brother John Gamber and pre-deceased by brothers Chris, Paul, and Tom.

Maryann is survived by her son Martin McSheffery of West Haven who will miss her greatly, Sister-in-law Alice Gamber, nieces and nephew Kim, Elaine and Chris. Also her sister-in-law Sharon Gamber, niece and nephews Jill, Paul Jr and Michael.

Maryann worked for the City of West Haven tax office for many years with her close friend Pat Howard. She also had a close friend Carol Hostler that she knew for much of her life. She finished her career working for Stop and Shop in West Haven where she made many friends and touched many hearts.

She enjoyed Square Dancing, bingo as her game of choice, and watching Red Sox games, as well as spending time at Sebago Lake, with her son Martin. She had 2 pets that were very close with her for her life, Cocoa a poodle mix and Lucky a shih tzu mix for the past 16yrs.

She enjoyed drawing very much in her books and watching the Lifetime channel. She has touched so many people lives over her lifetime and will be missed by many people, most of all her best friend and son Martin.

Like to send a special Thanks to the Connecticut Hospice for making my time with my mom special and helping to eliminate the pain she has lived with for many years. They are special people and went above and beyond to make her final days bearable.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, CT on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following calling hours at St. Lawrence Church, 207 Main Street, West Haven at 11 a.m.  Burial to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
