Mary Rose Hanke

Mary Rose Hanke, Age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 8, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of the late Orrin Hull Hanke.  Mary was born on March 19, 1926, to the late John and Letitia (Martin) Devine.

Mary started her career as a teller in 1966 and worked her way up to Bank Administrator. She continued to work in Retail after her retirement.  She was an avid gardener, but her family was the most important thing to her.

She is survived by her children, Letty Corrado (Robert Romanoff) of Milford, Orrin Hanke Jr. (Patty) of North Carolina, John Hanke (Cheryl) of Hamden, Diane Werle (Kevin) of West Haven, James Hanke of West Haven, Rosemary Jeracka (John) of Cheshire and Mark Hanke and Rocko of Milford.  She also leaves behind her cousin Mary Ludwig of Australia, fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her grandson John Quesnel of Maine, and brothers Daniel Devine of Oregon and John Devine of California. 

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd., West Haven, 11:00 a.m.  A private interment will immediately follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
