Mary V. Forsyth, age 90 of West Haven, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehab in West Haven on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Mary was born in New Haven on September 7, 1930 to the late John L. Vitelli and Mary (Margolis) Vitelli. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Forsyth.
Mary attended and graduated from West Haven High School. Mary worked for several banks after graduating high school. She left banking to raise her 2 sons, then returned to work as a claims processor for the CT Laborers Health Fund in West Haven. During her retirement, Mary was a volunteer for W. H. E. A. T. of West Haven. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially with her cherished grandchildren.
Mary will be greatly missed by her sons, Matthew Forsyth (Nicole) of West Haven, and James Forsyth of West Haven. Also left to cherish her memory are her two Grandchildren, Emily Stewart and Abbey Forsyth. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Donald Forsyth, and two brothers, John L Vitelli Jr. and Joseph L. Vitelli.
Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St, West Haven on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish , 89 Bull Hill Ln, West Haven, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave, West Haven.
