West Haven - Mary H. Budds of West Haven., passed away on March 7, 2018, at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Wife of the late Edward F. Budds. Mary was born in Elizabeth, NJ, June 13, 1925, daughter of Daniel A. and Julia Shevlin Heavren and grew up in Hamden.
She was the loving mother of Edward F. Budds, Jr. and Ellen B. McCabe of West Haven, and James V. Budds and his wife, Deborah Hill of Orange. Also survived by two grandchildren, Alison and Daniel McCabe and many loved nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by two sisters, Alma H. Chalifoux and Lucille H. McIntyre, and a brother, Daniel A. Heavren.
She worked for 13 years for the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council as a secretary and retired in 1990 from Meridian Asset Management as an administrative assistant. Mary was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church in West Haven. She was a literacy volunteer, an officer in the Mothers of Notre Dame Alumni for many years, a volunteer at Hospice and at the Savin Rock Museum.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Family and friends May visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Wednesday, March 14, from 9 am to 10:15 am with a funeral service at 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church at 11 am, interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
