Marion Eleanor McLaughlin

Marion Eleanor (Knudsen) McLaughlin, 96 of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late Arthur A. McLaughlin, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  Marion was born in Hamden, Connecticut on April  7, 1921 to the late Frederick J. and Mary E. (Robinson) Knudsen.  She was a longtime Connecticut resident living in Hamden, Branford and Wallingford until her passing.  She was employed by The Mite Corporation in Westville as an administrative assistant for over 20 years until her retirement.  Marion was an avid Yankees fan and especially enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod and Hawaii. Marion is survived by her daughter; Judith (Eugene) Early, and two sons; David (Patricia) McLaughlin and Arthur  “Skip” (Karen) McLaughlin.  She is also survived by one granddaughter; Shannon (Dietrich) Hernandez, and two great grandchildren Ciera and Morgan Hernandez. Marion also leaves a host of nieces and nephews including one special nephew, Richard Brewster.  Marion was predeceased by her sisters; Alice Day, Helen Brewster, and Mildred Knudsen, as well as two brothers; William and Frederick Knudsen.  Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral Service on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 10am, at Christ Church 84 Broadway, New Haven.  Interment will follow at Hamden Plains Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Marion’s memory be sent to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
