Marguerite Ann Ferrucci

Marguerite (Peg) Ferrucci of North Branford, CT died peacefully Monday (3.12.24) at Branford Hospice after a brief illness.  She was 93 years old. 

Peg was predeceased by her husband Michael Ferrucci Jr.  She is survived by her daughter Meg Caroti (Bob Caroti) of Hamden and her sons Michael Ferrucci (Debbie Ferrucci) and Thomas Ferrucci, both of North Branford.  She also had 5 grandchildren (Rob Caroti, Chicago; Matt Ferrucci, Madison, CT; Allen Ferrucci, Guildford, CT; Jenny Caroti, Marlboro, CT; Abigail Wheelis, Rome, Italy) and 12 great-grandchildren.

Peg graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1948 where she studied business.  She worked for a time at the famous A.C. Gilbert Company in New Haven, where she met her husband.  When her children reached high school she returned to work, establishing a career as an insurance rater.

Peg lived most of her adult life on Miller Road in Northford.  There she and her husband raised their family, enjoying lasting friendships with many neighbors.  She enjoyed entertaining, gardening, walking, and traveling with family and friends. 

Camping was a particular passion.  She took up camping as a young mother and continued to camp through retirement.   Extended camping trips, including a dream trip with her husband across the country, allowed her to meet people from other states and to make more friends.   Her love of camping has been passed on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peg loved meeting and talking to people from all walks of life.  While she could converse on many topics, her travel experiences often came up.  She was a good listener, and enjoyed learning about other people’s lives and families.  She took care to keep track of everyone, including her many offspring as well as her nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren.  She was proud of her family, and loved to share stories of their accomplishments and travels.

A celebration of her life will be held in July when all of her grandchildren will be able to gather.  Meanwhile contributions in her name can be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association, PO Box 61420, Staten Island, NY  10306 or  apdaparkinson.org.
