Lucy H. Morone

Lucy Henriette Morone, 67, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 2, 2017 following a six-month battle with cancer. Lucy was born on Staten Island, NY to Frances and Clairette Rotunno on September 14, 1950.

She was a resident of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Greenwich, CT; both of which she considered home. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, a dedicated and accomplished educator, and a talented painter. Lucy earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the City University of New York, Hunter College. She was passionate about travel, dance, literature, film, and spending time with her family.

Lucy is survived by her children: Melissa Morone Sommer, Jennifer Morone, Joseph Morone; her granddaughter, Everest Sommer; brother, Joseph Rotunno; and countless friends and family, who loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, in Greenwich, CT on December 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
