Lawrence DeFrancesco Jr. died peacefully on Sunday, August 8th at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the widower of the love of his life, Jean DeFrancesco.
Larry was born on February 18, 1927 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Lawrence DeFrancesco Sr. and Nancy Costanzo DeFrancesco. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II and in the Navy during the Korean War. After serving in the service he was a store manager for Grand Union for over 35 years. Along side Jean he raised 5 children; Duayne DeFrancesco, Bonnie DeFrancesco, Kimberly Mazzaro, Daryll DeFrancesco, and Craig DeFrancesco.
Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Meghan Mazzaro, Ryan Mazzaro, Melissa DeFrancesco, and Corey DeFrancesco, Jason DeFrancesco and Christopher Defrancesco. Larry loved to go fishing and golfing, going for walks at Hammonasset Beach, and cooking for his family.
Larry was lucky to find love and companionship later in life with the late Ann Earl. Her and her family were very important to Larry, and for that we are grateful.
Larry leaves behind his brother, Robert DeFrancesco and sister, Elizabeth DeFrancesco. Larry was predeceased by his sisters, Eleanor DeFrancesco and Rose D. Ardito, as well as his brothers, Salvator, Vincent, Anthony, and Joseph DeFrancesco.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 13th at Keenan Funeral Home North Branford from 11AM-1PM and burial will immediately follow at Nut Plains Cemetery in Guilford.
