Karen Browning

Karen Beamish Browning, 75, died peacefully Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in North Branford, Connecticut.  She was born on April 30, 1942 in New York City, New York to Ruth Roberts Beamish and Frederick Fisher.  

Raised in Weston, Massachusetts, Karen attended Weston High School and then graduated with a degree in English from Smith College.  She married Donald Browning (who predeceased her) and they moved to Guilford, Connecticut, where they raised their family.  

She is survived by her three children; Cathy Burch (Drew) of Rancho Santa Fe, California, Torey Browning (Dave Aceti) of Madison, Wisconsin, and Nick Browning (Adrienne) of Madison, Connecticut.  She is also survived by five grandchildren; Caroline Burch, Alexander Burch, Lilah Browning, Clara Browning and Nathaniel Browning.  She was an accomplished duplicate bridge player and a master at the New York Times crossword puzzle.  A lover of the outdoors, she started the Baldwin Outdoor Education Program in Guilford and always enjoyed walks in the woods.  The service was private.
