Julia Ramona Rivera, 90, of West Haven left to be with the Lord on March 31, 2018. Julia passed away quietly at Saint Raphael’s Hospital surrounded by family. She was born on March 8, 1928, in Puerto Rico, to the late Angel and Juana Rodriguez.
She leaves behind her 5 beloved children: Aida Boria Gonzalez of West Haven, Pablo Gonzalez, Jr of Puerto Rico, Nidia Torres and Victor Gonzalez both of Florida and Iris Gonzalez of West Haven, as well as 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Julia also leaves behind her siblings Irene Rodriguez, Estaban Rodriguez and Carmen Valentin, Julia was pre-deceased by her siblings Georgina Rodriguez, Genoveva Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez and Monserate Rodriguez.
Julia enjoyed her employment of 12 years at Sargent Assa Abloy in New Haven, before retiring to Florida, where she volunteered at her local church. Julia came back to Connecticut in 2008, to live out the rest of her life. Julia looked forward to her daily cup of coffee and spending time with family. The family wishes to thank U.S. Renal Care of Orange for the loving compassion they showed to Julia throughout the last few years.
Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St. West Haven Thursday April 5, from 9 to 11:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St Louis Church at 12 noon. Internment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
