Josephine Sarah Salvatore

Josephine Sarah Salvatore, 91, of West Haven peacefully passed on June 1, 2022 at her home, in the care of her daughter Marianne and her niece and goddaughter Anne Bonagiuso. 

Josephine was the beloved wife to the late Joseph Salvatore, and was the beloved mother of John R. Salvatore of Hamden, and Marianne (Anthony) Leone of West Haven. 

Josephine was born in New Haven on October 17, 1930 to the late Phillip Bonagiuso and Mary Biga Bonagiuso. She is survived by her sister Nancy Bua and her brothers Frank and Robert Bonagiuso. She was predeceased by her brother Phillip Bonagiuso.

She was a loving grandmother to Robert and John (Tess) Salvatore, and Anthony J. (Kara) Leone, and Jenna (Michael Natale) Leone. A great-grandmother of six: Gianna, Michael and Aria Natale, Anthony and Logan Leone, and Ava Salvatore.

Josephine loved her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, vacations, as well as trips to the casino with her siblings.

Visitation will be held at Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St, West Haven CT,  on Wednesday 6/8  from 10AM – 11AM. Service will start at 11 AM, following a burial at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. 
In lieu of flowers, relatives and friends are welcome to donate to Alzheimer’s Foundation and The Heart Association.
