John J. Ahern

John J. Ahern Jr., 69, of West Haven, passed away on Sunday June 25, 2017 at Regal Care in West Haven after a lengthy illness.  John was born in New Haven, CT on February 7, 1948 to the late John J. Sr. and Anne (Kelley) Ahern. 

He attended West Haven Schools and was employed as a server at Apps Restaurant for many years where he had a devoted following. 

John is survived by his cousin and friend Jim Killelea and his wife Mary Rita of Branford as well as a host of cousins and special friends to include, Wilson Nunez, Ellen Bohan, and Rosemary Hartigan. 

Family and friends are welcomed to gather directly at St. John Vianney Church, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd, West Haven, on Tuesday June 27, 2017 for a Mass of christian burial at 11am.  Interment will follow at Cavalry Cemetery in Waterbury. There will be no calling hours.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Regal Care in West Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital, 35 Park St. New Haven, CT 06511.
