Joan K. Kidney

Joan K. Kidney, Age 91, of West Haven passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.  She was born in West Haven on May 26, 1926 to the late John Edward and Marguerite Hannan Kidney.

Joan attended St. Lawrence School and graduated from West Haven High School in 1944. For over 30 years she worked in the billing department of Yale New Haven Hospital where she retired. She was faithful to any family member that needed care. She was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church and a good friend to everyone that knew her. She will be sadly missed. 

She is survived by her nieces and nephews Mary (William) Torino of East Haven, David (Karen) Kidney of Stratford and Marguerite (Richard) Williamson of Sterling, VA, Patricia (Walter) McTernan Denn of Oakland, California and Kevin(Vaughn) McTernan of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother John Edward Kidney and Sister Margie McTernan and nephew Mark McTernan.

Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Friday, March 2nd from 5 pm – 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church, Saturday, March 3rd, 10 am.
