Joan Fair

Joan (Dwyer) Fair, 83, of North Branford, beloved wife of the late Thomas Fair, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2017 surrounded by family.  Joan was born in New Haven on July 11, 1934 to the late James and Margaret (Hall) Dwyer. 

She was a longtime resident of North Branford and the former owner of the Fairways Driving Range in Branford. Caring and compassionate, Joan was always doing for others, often putting their needs before her own.  She welcomed all and made everyone feel truly special. Her zest for life and constant acts of genuine kindness will missed by all; her life an example to follow.  

Joan is survived by her five children; Linda Packard, Kathy (Ed) Galuski, Tracy (Fran) Merola, Sue (Brian) Campbell and Tommy Fair.  She leaves behind eight grandchildren; Ryan (Kate) VanWilgen, Tim (Lilli) Shaw, Laura Shaw, Taylor Merola, Nicole Campbell, as well as Sydney, Morgan and Bayley Fair.  Joan was also survived by her five great-grandchildren; Nora and Gwenyth VanWilgen, Olivia and Alexis Shaw and Liam Galuski.  She was predeceased by her only brother; Jim Dwyer. 

Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd.  North Branford on Thursday, October 12 from 4-7 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 13, 2017 at 11:30 am at St. George Catholic Church, 33 Whitfield St. Guilford.  Everyone is asked to gather directly at church for Mass Friday morning.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
