Jeanne D. Colter

Jeanne D. Colter, age 94 of North Branford passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven. Jeanne was the beloved wife of Ralph Colter. Jeanne was born in New Haven on March 28, 1923 to the late Hubert and Veronica (Foley) Donahue. 

Jeanne attended Stone Business School earlier in her life and she was a homemaker who devoted her life to raising and lovingly caring for her family. She was an avid Yankee and Nets fan and always was cheering on the UConn Men’s Basketball Team.  Jeanne was a faithful member of St. Augustine Church in North Branford. Beside her husband of 68 years, she is survived by her two children, Beverly  Pielech of North Haven and Peter (Kathy) Colter of Guilford, CT. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Greg Pielech (Jennifer), Kim Pielech Romano (Angelo), Emily Colter (John Purcell), Tim and Benjamin Colter, and three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Lia and Grayson. She is predeceased by her son, Kenneth Colter, son-in- law Frank Pielech, and three brothers, Edward, Howard and James Donahue.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday February 16, at 11:00 am at St. Augustine Church in North Branford.  Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
