Isidore Ray Stark

Isidore “Ray” Stark, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018.  He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Rhoda Ruth Stark, and his two daughters, Jac-Lynn Stark of Swampscott, Massachusetts and Wanda Stark Losnes (husband Donald) of Guilford, Connecticut. 

Ray and his wife lived in North Branford (and previously Branford) for many years.  They also enjoyed their second home in Punta Gorda, Florida.  Ray was born in Binghamton, New York on May 14, 1925 and grew up in the Bronx.  He had 4 brothers and a sister.

Ray was a salesman at Wayside Furniture of Milford for more than 30 years prior to retiring at age 70. He was an avid fisherman with many secret fishing spots around the Branford area and was a member of the Branford Yacht Club for many years.  He had a great sense of humor and was always quite the character.  He served in the Navy during WWII and while hospitalized at the Naval Hospital at Yosemite National Park, he received a money clip from Bette Davis that he used for the rest of his life.

The family extends their thanks to the MICU team at West Haven Veteran’s Hospital for their compassion during his final days.
