Helen M. (Mulvey) Stackpole, 88, a long time resident of West Haven passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023. She was the beloved wife for over 58 years of the late Richard Stackpole. She was born on September 13, 1934 in New Haven to the late Peter and Ella (Shanley) Mulvey and was predeceased by two brothers, Peter Mulvey and James Mulvey. She is survived by two children, a daughter Maureen (Anthony) Sacchetti of Hamden and a son Charles (Lisa) Stackpole of Orange. She was also the loving grandmother of six grandchildren: James Sacchetti of Bloomfield, Lisa (Christopher) Braga of Wallingford, Stephen (Julia) Sacchetti of Salem MA, Kevin Stackpole of Milford, Bridget Stackpole of Orange, Kiley Stackpole of Orange and the great-grandmother of Aiden Braga.
Helen attended St Mary’s High School in New Haven and was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Company before retiring to raise her family. She was a devout Catholic and proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed spending time with her family and life-long friends.
Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Tuesday May 30, 2023 from 6 – 8pm. A Mass and Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday May 31, 2023 at 10am at St. Louis Church of West Haven. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Memorial contributions, in Helen’s name, may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
