Helen A. Madzak

Helen A. Madzak, 94, of Guilford, passed away surrounded by her family on January 26, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was born in New Haven on August 5, 1923 to the late Anthony and Eva (Swistak) Magdziak.

Helen was a member of the 1941 graduating class of Hillhouse High School in New Haven. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Accounting. She retired after 20 years with The Kitchen Company. Helen was an avid reader, and loved to travel. She also belonged to the Guilford Seniors for many years.

She is survived by her two sisters: Phyllis Dynia of Madison and Beatrice Oberle of Guilford. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: Stanley and Joseph Madzak, and her sister, Ann Heeran.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, January 31 at St. George Church in Guilford. The family requests that everyone go directly to the church for the Mass. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
