Harry C. Graham

June 29, 1945 ~ September 27, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Harry C. Graham, age 72 of West Haven passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven.  He was the beloved husband of Kathleen K. Graham for 50 years.  Harry was born on June 29, 1945 to Thomas P. Graham and Helen O’Donnell Graham.

Harry graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven Class of ‘63, then graduated from Providence College Class of ‘67 with a degree in political science.  He went on to get his Masters and 6th year degree from Southern CT State University in Education. .  He taught in the New Haven school system for 34 years at Troop Middle School and then Betsy Ross Magnet School before retiring in 2004.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his two daughters Kelly Sheehan of North Branford, and Katy Zalinsky (Craig) of Bethany.  He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Erin Sheehan, Emma Sheehan, Jackson Zalinsky, Olivia Zalinsky and Addison Zalinsky.  Brother of Thomas P. Graham Jr. (Maryellen) of Ohio, Ellen C. (Chrys) Santandera (Bernie) of Georgia, Robert Graham (Patricia) of Ohio,  brother-in-law John Wood, and brother-in-law Thomas Kelly (Louise) of Guilford.  He was predeceased by a brother John (Jack) Graham of Illinois and sister Ann Graham Wood of Virginia.

Harry was a very devoted family man, who loved spending  time with his family.  One of his greatest joys was attending his grandchildren’s numerous sporting events, where he would provide his unsolicited sage words of wisdom (to not only them, but their friends as well). He also enjoyed the annual family vacation to Cape Cod for the last 15 summers.  Prior to that, there were many summers spent with his siblings and their families at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. He also took many trips with his wife to Newport Rhode Island, Maine and various scenic destinations.  Harry spent the rest of his summers on the golf course chasing the eternal hole in one (which he did manage to get one), and preparing for a long, cold winter diligently chopping wood for his wood stove.
