Gladys Rose

Gladys G. Rose, 86, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2021 with family by her side. She was the only child of Chester and Kathryn Walker Gedney, and was born and raised in North Branford. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, David Rose. Together they owned and managed Rose Orchards and Rose Construction.She was an extremely hardworking person, often working from dawn to dusk, and beyond, seven days a week for the benefit of the family farm.  Gladys  had many roles in life, but most treasured being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her five children: Sara-Jane ( Charles) Querfeld, Diane (Ernest) Nunzianto, Alfred (Ruth) Rose,  Wendy (David) Skelton, and Robert (Penni) Rose. Grandchildren include Stephanie, Stephen, and Tyler Rose; Aaron, Avery, Emma, and Alden Skelton; Abbie Walston, Jonathan and Nathaniel Rose, Matthew, Mark, and Michael Nunzianto, and Shannon Miscio. She was predeceased by grandson Peter Rose.  She was blessed with fourteen great grandchildren: Josh, David, and Anna Rose Walston; Logan, Colton, Mia, Marco, Henry, and Andrew Nunzianto; Landon and Owen Skelton; Harrison and Mason Miscio; and Audrey Rose. The Celebration of her Life will be private, due to the pandemic.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the North Branford Fire Department,  Company 1 at PO Box 537 North Branford CT 06471.
