Gladys E. Alers-Cuevas

Gladys E. Alers-Cuevas , 66, of New Haven passed, surrounded by family on July 20, 2017. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico to Eugenio and Bernanda Alers on October 28, 1950.

A graduate of Boriqua College, Gladys spent her career working in health care administration; most recently at the APT Foundation. Gladys will be remembered for her love of music, dancing, singing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

The second oldest-born of her family, she joins her brothers in eternity, Alexander and Richard, as well as her sister, Adelaida. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Marcial, and children, Rebecca and Alexander. She is also survived by her sisters: Bedsaida, Elizabeth,  Minerva , Ramona, and Haydee; and her brothers: Eugenio, Carlos, and Hector.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home in West Haven on Tuesday, July 25 from 4 to 8pm; a service will be held Wednesday beginning at 11am at the funeral home and concluding at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven. Flowers may be sent to Keenan Funeral Home.
