Genevieve L. Russo

Genevieve L. Russo, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2018 at Watrous Nursing Center, Madison surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late George M. Russo. Genevieve was born on March 8, 1930 to the late Edward and Clara Muller Bernardo in Queens, NY.

She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family.  Genevieve was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.  She served as a Eucharistic Minister at church and was employed at AT&T from which she retired.  She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her four children, Michele Gay of Guilford, Lorraine Russo of Northford, Susan Ennever of North Branford and Jacqueline (William) Nelson of Westport.  She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Cheryl (Erin) Lewis, Jeffrey Ennever, Justin Gay, Steven Nelson and Jessica Nelson as well as two great grandchildren, Katelyn Daylida and Amelia Lewis. She is predeceased by her sister Marilyn Olive.

The family wants to express a special thank you to the staff, nurses and aides at Watrous Nursing Center in Madison for their exceptional care.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home Sunday, October 14 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 15, 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford.  Interment immediately following at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven.
