Francis J. Sommo

Francis (Frank) J. Sommo, age 82, passed away peacefully Saturday June 18, 2022 at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT. He was born August 01, 1939 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late James and Hazel (Dunlap) Sommo. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Elsie (Taylor) Sommo.

During his life, Francis served his country in the United States Army as well as working for Asbestos workers local 33 for 32 years.  Frank loved many things, but watching his grandchildren play baseball, and spending vacations with his family were amongst the top things he enjoyed most.

Francis is survived by his son, Ronald (Bud) Sommo and his wife Debbie, his Grandchildren, Ronald J Sommo (Stephanie), Matthew and fiancé Nisha Parekh, as well as Vincent, his wife Brionna and their three sons, Dominic, Jameson and Landon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with siblings, Lawrence Sommo (Corrine), Mary Ann Speers, Teresa Sacco (Frank), Marguerite Dudek and Janet Schupp (Kevin). Frank is also survived by his companion Joann Sirico.

Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, James Sommo Jr, Anthony Sommo and a sister, Dolores Kyle.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Keenan Funeral Home 330 Notch Hill Rd, North Branford CT.

Interment will be held at Branford Center Cemetery in Branford, CT 11:00 am on Friday, June 24, 2022.
