Tribute

Evelyn Rose Mordecai died peacefully on January 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in New Haven on March 29, 1927 to Antonio and Giovannina Fusco Cusano.

She was predeceased by her husband, George and two of her beloved children, George and Ellen. Evelyn got great joy from her large family and many friends.  She will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Ronnie, Tom, Mary Beth and Mickey, Laurie and Dan, Stephen and Cathy, her daughter-in-law Chris, son-in-law Brad and her sister-in law Mary Rose.  She treasured and spoiled her 16 grandchildren, Brian, Rachel, Mark, Sarah, Elisabeth, Mary, Martha, Lydia, Grace, Joanna, Kevin, Shayna, Matthew, Molly, Kyle, and Kelly. Evelyn adored her 9 great grandchildren, Miles, Jack, Ben, Isabella, Carmella, Jane, Neema, Keoni, and her namesake Evi.  

Evelyn spent her life caring for people and nourishing them with her love and her cookies.

Friends and family are invited to visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd. in North Branford Friday January 11, from 5 to 7pm to reminisce. Funeral Services will be held at St. Augustine Church in North Branford on Saturday January 12, at 10:30 am.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
