Evelyn Marie Haley

Evelyn M. (Borelli) Haley, 91, of North Branford, Beloved wife of the late Ralph E. Haley, passed away on Monday June 19, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 13, 1926 in Hamden to the late Pasquale and Marie Antoinetta (Richitelli) Borelli. 

She graduated from Hamden High School in 1944 and briefly lived in New Haven thereafter. Evelyn was then a longtime resident of North Branford, CT and was a parishioner or St. Augustine Church.  She was employed by Safety Car Heating and Lighting Company in Hamden until her retirement in 1988. Evelyn enjoyed many sports in her younger days to include bowling, and the Safety Car basketball team.  In her later years she was an active member of the North Branford Senior Center where she made many friends and will be missed by many.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons; James L. and Ralph M. Haley, daughter-in-law Janet N. Haley, as well as her brother William Borelli.  She also leaves behind two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her siblings; Sue Sortito, Edith Cinquino, and Harry, Anthony, and Michael Borelli. 

Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Harry Borelli, Peggy Calamita, and Alberta Guest. 

Family and friends are welcomed to visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd., North Branford, on Sunday June 25, 2017 from 4pm-6pm.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday June 26, 2017 at St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Rd. North Branford at 10am.  Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church the morning of Mass. Interment will follow at Bare Plain Cemetery, North Branford.
