Donna L. Hollinger

Donna L. Hollinger, age 76, of West Haven passed away on February 19, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew T. Hollinger Jr.  Donna was born in New Haven on January 10, 1945 to the late Eugene and Amelia (Miles) Thorpe. 

Donna was a 1963 graduate of Hillhouse Highschool. She was a West Haven resident for 45 years and parishioner of the former St. Paul’s Church and St. Louis Church in West Haven.  She worked for over 10 years at SNET and the University of New Haven as a Secretary of International Services for over 20 years.  She was also a member of the West Haven Junior Women’s Club, the Marriage Encounter and Salem Farms Campground.  Donna was an avid book reader who loved reading on the front porch of her home.  She loved traveling to see her daughter in Florida during the winter months. 

She is survived by her son Paul E. Hollinger of West Haven and Erica L. Hollinger of Florida.  She also leaves behind her brother, Eugene “Roger” (MaryAnn) Thorpe of Wallingford, Brother-In-Laws John “Jack” Barry of Danbury, John Brenna of Monroe and Peter (Cathy) Bodner of Providence, RI. Sister-In-Law, Rebecca Thorpe of West Haven and her beloved cat Jackson.  She is predeceased by her twin sister Joann Barry, brother Robert Thorpe, sister Margaret (Angelo) Marcarelli and Sister-In-Law Margaret Brenna.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven with Covid restrictions on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February, 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. St. Louis Church, 89 Bull Hill Lane, West Haven.  Interment to follow Mass at ST. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
