Clarence Mackey Hyland 84, of North Branford and beloved husband of Doris Kaiser Hyland, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday, May 6th, 2018.
Besides his wife, he leaves his loving daughter Katherine Ann Hyland and husband David Gottschalk, and loving granddaughters Brianna and Brooke Hammond all of North Branford, CT. Also survived by his sister Marjorie Luttig and brother-in-law Ernest of Alton Bay, NH and Fort Myers, FL, a niece Cynthia of Leominster, MA and nephew Keith Luttig of Littleton, MA.
A lifelong resident of North Branford, his family dates back many decades to the Northford dairy farming community. After completing his studies at Boardman Trade, Clarence was employed for 27 years as an Electrician for the St. of CT Department of Transportation. He was a good man, a man of few words and a wry smile; content spending his time with family and friends; enjoying life’s simple pleasures. The family would like to extend a special note of gratitude to Dr. Harold Levy for his continuous and gracious care and compassion over the years.
Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm. Service of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 280 Humphrey Street, New Haven, CT 0651l. Committal Service immediately following in the family plot at Bare Plains Cemetery, North Branford.
