Catherine Irene Gilson

Catherine Cleary Gilson, age 97, passed away July 29, 2018 at Arden House in Hamden.  She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Gilson.  Catherine was born on August 7, 1920 to the late Thomas and Anne Malone Cleary in Orange, CT.

Kay worked for Yale Medical School.  She was a devoted Catholic and an Ecumenical Master for St. Lawrence Church for 25 years.

She is predeceased by her sisters Margaret Gilson, Elizabeth Platt, Eleanor Gilson and brothers John Cleary, Francis Cleary and Thomas Cleary. She is survived by her dear Sister-In-Law Mary Cleary, three generations of Nieces and Nephews and special friend Mary McGovern.

Family and Friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, Thursday, August 2 from 5 pm – 7 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am at St. Lawrence Church on Friday, August 3, 207 Main Street, West Haven.  Interment immediately following at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.
