Carol M. Fullerton

Carol May Fullerton, age 76, of West Haven passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut.  She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Fullerton Jr.  She was born in New Haven, Connecticut on December 25, 1941 to the late Harris and Maylaw Albertson Towne.

For most of Carol’s life she was a waitress and hostess at a variety of restaurants, most recently Dakota’s in Milford, Connecticut. She was also employed at the former Eats and Sweets of West Haven, Connecticut.  She enjoyed Savin Rock in West Haven and liked the amusement rides especially the roller coasters, the faster the better. In her early years, she enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, NJ, going on vacation and shopping. Carol liked updated, current music and to dance but most of all her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She loved watching her grandchildren and daughter dance.  Purple was her favorite color.

Carol is survived by her four children, Denise Gabinelli of West Haven, Carol (Marvin) Mendoza of West Haven, Charles “Chuck” (Tricia) Fullerton of West Haven and Cristen (Willys) Cortez of West Haven and one brother Harris “Hockey” (Shirley) Towne of Sandy Hook.  She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Charles Hemstock IV, Curtis Hemstock, Rachele Gabinelli, Megan Mendoza, Charles Fullerton IV, Alyssa and Sarah Fullerton, Xavier Cortez, Alexandra Cortez, Izzabella Cortez, Lazareth Cortez and Lilianna Cortez and five great grandsons, Charles (Kirby) Hemstock, Carter Hemstock, Chase Hemstock, Camden Hemstock and Connor Hemstock.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Connecticut, Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5 pm – 7 pm.  A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
