Barbara Mary Fiorillo

Barbara Mary Fiorillo, age 89, of West Haven passed away peacefully at St. Raphael’s Hospital on January 18, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Fiorillo.  Barbara was born in New Haven, CT on March 2, 1931 to the late Edward and Mary (Korowskus) Carney. 

Barbara retired from SNET and was also a Teacher’s Aide for the West Haven School System.  She loved the Red Sox, was an avid reader of romance novels and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.  Barbara was a member of St. Lawrence Church and taught CCD classes at St. Lawrence School.  She loved caring for her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her three sons, Peter (Lynn) Fiorillo, David (Gina) Fiorillo and Chris Fiorillo all of West Haven. She is also survived by one brother, William Carney of Monroe, CT, four grandchildren, David Jr. (Gina), Amanda (Christopher), Craig (Katrina) and Staci (Jason) and twelve great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother, Christopher Carney and sister Alice McMahon. 

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church, 207 Main Street, West Haven at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
