Angelo L. DellaCamera, Age 95, of West Haven passed away comfortably surrounded by his family at the West Haven Veterans Hospital in West Haven. He was the beloved husband of Ann Vanallst DellaCamera.
Angelo was a World War II Army Veteran with a rank of Master Sergeant serving in Korea and WWII. Angelo was a resident of West Haven since 1950 and was a truck driver all his life, his last employer being Narragansett Beer Company out of Fair Haven. He was a member of American Legion Post 71 of West Haven, a devoted Yankees fan and was well known as an MC and Entertainer hosting weddings and other events. His greatest love was his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and he will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife of 2 ½ years, he is survived by his seven children, Vivian (Andrew) Gamberdella of East Haven, Susan (Bob) Berrie of Florida, Robert (MaryBeth) DellaCamera of Florida, Catherine (John) Tannoia of Florida, Thomas F. (Diane) DellaCamera of West Haven, Sandra (Rocco) Lombardi of East Haven and Marjorie DellaCamera of East Haven. He is also survived by a brother, Frederick (Phyllis) DellaCamera of Branford and a Sister Judith Bavonocore of Branford , eighteen Grandchildren and 29 Great Children as well as his former wives Marie and Rita. He is predeceased by his son Louis DellaCamera, seven brothers and three sisters.
Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Sunday, March 11 from 2 pm – 5 pm. Private burial will be at the Middletown Veterans Cemetery.
